Sandor Clegane Predictions: He has a big brother, who is really freaking big. He had his face burnt by his elder brother over some childhood fight that made him kind of phobic to fire. But nevertheless, he has a liking for a kill that makes goes totally with his nickname, ‘The Hound’. Viewer’s perception of Sandor Clegane in the series Game of Thrones has been a confusing one. He started off as a fearsome knight who really liked to kill and later down the line his persona kept hanging between a man with a heart and a beast with a hunger.
When we saw him almost on the verge of dying at the end of 4th season, we couldn’t have expected him to return in the sixth season. But since now he has, it would be interesting to know his journey in Game of Thrones season 7.
Journey So Far
Certainly, everyone’s first impression of The Hound was of a hungry to kill animal leashed by the rules of knighthood. When in season 1 Little finger told the story about his burnt face, we did feel bad for him, but not enough to empathize with him. Later in the series we saw him fighting, killing, drinking and killing more. He served king Joffery for a while until the king’s landing was attacked by Stannis and seeing Joffery’s impotence as a ruler, he finally quit the king’s guard. During this time we saw his good side when he protected Sansa from the rage of city men. While Sansa saw him as a good guy Arya Stark had him on her hit list for killing her friend Mycah.
After leaving the king’s landing one event after The Hound straight to Arya whom he kidnapped from Riverrun to take her to Vale to her aunt in exchange for gold. When Arya and he discovered about Lysa Arryn’s death and were returning from Vale, they found Brienne of Tarth who was searching for Arya and Sansa. Sandor Clegane and Brienne had a one on one combat which ended up in The Hound lying in his death bed waiting to die. Though Arya had him on her list, she didn’t kill him and left him to rot in pain. By the end of season 4 we all thought Sandor Clegane was gone, only to be proved wrong in the mid of season 6.
While fans were overwhelmed with on Jon’s return, they were equally shocked to see Hound back to. It turned out that he was a piece cult who was killed by the end of the episode. To avenge the people who killed them Hound once again went on his killing spree only to settle for one while the rest were hanged by the Band without Banners. The last time we saw Hound, he had joined Thoros and Beric.
Prediction For Sandor Clegane :
Right now Sandor Clegane has joined the Brotherhood without Banners with Thoros of Myr and Beric Dondarrion. Thus his journey is going to be with them for the future story. Game of Thrones season 7 is going to be about 2 major battles, one at the kings landing while the other and a bigger one in the north with the White Walkers. The Brotherhood of Banners is on its mission to join the latter one which means, we’ll have The Hound added to the battle against the Frozen Walking Dead. While in his journey they might meet the Red Lady who was extradited by Jon and was sent to the south. If this happens (which is very probable) the Brotherhood without Banners may also have and encounter with Arya Stark, thus presenting a very interesting unison of Arya and Sandor Clegane.
The Hound might have been missing from the series for a while, but now that he has returned, he has a lot to do in the upcoming Game of Thrones season 7. It will be interesting to see what turn does his persona finally takes when he faces the ultimate villains of the series, the White Walkers. Also, if at all Arya and Sandor Clegane meet, it would be a really exciting reunion.
