Game Of Thrones Season 6: The finale of season 6 of HBO’s popular TV series Game of Thrones has the fans going insane about the theories and anticipations about the upcoming season 7. Adding 12 more Emmy wins to the series’ account, this season had some really interesting events were par viewers’ expectations. So let us try to look back at season 6 and see what actually happened. SPOILERS ALERT!
Well Season 6 of Game Of Thrones has been really fascinating and well enshrouded indeed. The first episode continued with the cliffhangers left by its predecessors. By the unfortunate death of Lord Commander Jon Snow in season 5, fans were half expecting him to come back in this season. The first episode started with Ser Davos finding Jon’s corpse and is taken inside his room along with Edd and some more of the loyalists.
Theon and Sana Captured By Ramsay:
Theon and Sansa who escaped from Ramsay’s captivity are almost captured back by his men before Lady Brienne and Pod kill to come to the rescue.On the other hand in Westros, Jamie comes with the body of his and Cersie’s daughter Myrcella who was poisoned by EllariaMyrtell who along with her daughter Tyene also kills Doran and AreoHotah in Sunspear. KhaleesiDanaerys is taken to Khal Moro in the land of Dothraki. Moving to Braavos, we fingAray begging on the streets and occasionally beaten by Waif. The episode ends with revealing the Red LadyMelisandre as an old crone who disguises her look by some magic jewel she is wearing.
The season moves on with Roose Bolton, his Wife, and new-born son being killed by Ramsay. Sansa discovers from Brienne that Arya’s still alive. Theon is now on his way back to Iron islands where his father Balon is killed by his uncle EuronGreyjoy.Arya in Braavos is still occasionally attacked by Waif until Jaqen interrupts and tells her to follow him.Tyrion in Mereen releases the dragons Rhaegal and Viserion as Yunkai and andAstapor are back to slavery.
We see Bran learning from the three-eyed raven to visit the past where he sees young Ned and Benjen Stark along with young Hodor. The mutineers at Night’s watch are captured by Edd and the Wildlings. By the end of the second episode, to the relief of fans, Lord Commander is brought back to life by the efforts of Melisandre
The Return Of Jon Snow from Dead:
On returning, Jon Snow punishes the mutineers to death. He then leaves the commandership making appointing Edd in charge.Arya gets her sight back and is trained by Waif.Varys’ little birds tell him he the Sons of Harpy are financed by Masters of Volantis, Yunkai and Astapor. Jon is reunited with his half-sister Sansa along with Brienne and Pod.Tyrion makes an arrangement with the masters to end slavery in seven years in return for peace.Daario and Jorah, who were searching for Danaerys finally find her in the land of Dothrak where she kills Khal Moro and his men by setting fire to the temple of Dosh Khaleen by the end of the fourth episode.
Sansa in Castle Black is offered help by LittlefingerPetyrBaelish with the Tully Army beside him. Jon and Sansa are set to join the houses in the north against Ramsay Bolton.Arya’s training as faceless assassin continues as she is given a new job to kill an actress. Bran discovers that White Walkers were created by the children in the forest to protect them from first men. In his vision, he accidently meets the Night King making the cave vulnerable. The fifth episode ends with Bran knowing Hodor’s secret and finally losing him to the White Walkers.
The Stark Crusade:
Bran and Meera are alive and are saved by Benjen Stark. Sam takes Gilly to Citadel after being insulted by his father. He takes with him the Tarly’sValyrian Steel Sword, Heartsbane. Jamie is removed from kings guard following his attempt to attack the High Sparrow and his followers. He is sent to help Walder Frey acquire Riverrun.Arya not only fails to kill the actress but also warns her of the threat. She is attacked by Waif by Jaquen’s orders. Sansa, Jon, and Davos have convinced a few houses in North but are still outnumbered by Boltons. We discover that SandorClegane is alive and was saved by Septon and his followers who are killed by Brotherhood Without Banners.
Jamie following his failure to parley with Balckfish in Riverrun lets Brienne talk to him. With no success from Brienne Jamie finally convinces Edmure Tully to order the guards to let him and the Lannister Army in. Brienne escapes from the scene while Blackfish is killed.Mereen is attacked by the masters and Danaerys returns.
The actress Arya was ordered to kill saves her but is eventually killed by Waif who is then tricked and killed by Arya. She presumes her identity as Arya Stark. The masters refuse to negotiate with Danaerys who then kills 2 of them along with their fleet and Sons of Harpy with the help of the 3 dragons and the Dothraki army. SandorClegane meets SerBeric and Thoros of Meer kill the Brotherhood Without Banners with their help.
The Battle of the Bastards: Battle Between Jon Snow and Ramsay:
Jon and Ramsay are finally at war, Rickon is killed by Ramsay to trick Jon who seems to lose the battle with his small army until they are saved by the Knights of Vale. Jon brutally beats Ramsay who is finally witnessed being devoured by his own hounds by Sansa.
The finale had Cersie killing everyone in the Sept of Balor with wildfire including Margery and the High Sparrow. Unable to bear this Tommen also suicides.Varys has united the house Tyrell and Myrtell with Danaerys’ army who is set for Westros along with the Greyjoys. Tyrion is appointed as her hand. Jon is revealed to be Ned’s sister Lyanna’s son and not his bastard. He is declared king in the North.
